Ya Mon!

So, the photo is me and Mama on the cruise. Can you believe she is 67? I'm hoping those genes hold out for me too...

Yes, cruising was super-cool! I think I gained 5 pounds and it may take me a while to adjust to life without a personal waiter and cabin steward, but it was worth it. Jamaica was very awesome- but hot, Grand Cayman was probably my fave overall spot and Cozemel had some fantastic ruins. All were surrounded by the stunning blue ocean and all were pretty damn hot. Jamaica seemed the worst, but that was probably just an issue with the bus air conditioning.

So- I probably need an intervention or something at this point. C from B.R. is expressing interest again. Problem is, we are both crazily and foolishly attracted to one another. I should totally be saying 'Fool me twice, shame on me' but dammit- she's hot and I know she likes me.

Careening crazily on dry land,

Your Pal,
Sparks

Jamaican me Crazy

I've been so busy I haven't had much time to think about it but I'm leaving Sunday on a cruise to Cozemel, The Grand Caymans and Jamaica. I'm takin my mama, cuz I love her and she loves cruises. Hope Mama is ok with our tour group being mostly dykes. She probably will be. No, it is not a dyke cruise (I wish) but a group of Foodies going as a tour group ON the cruise so it will be around 50 of us I think. I'm excited and nervous. Strange thing is, I have such a computer addiction one thing that keeps running through my head is- "I wonder if they have internet access on the boat? If so, should I bring my laptop? Will access be free (probably not) or very expensive? Sure, I go off to a series of tropical paradii and I'm thinking about internet access.
I'm a loser.
My mom will be staying with me the week after I get back from the cruise also so it is a good thing I saw both my girlies yesterday before she arrived. Now I get to settle in for lots of family bonding and the best cock-block ever curtesy of 'mama in the house'.
I better have a date on the 29th-- I will be REALLY wanting one by then...

Sweet?

Someone on Craigslist just asked me how I stay so sweet.
I'm not sure everyone would think I was. But I do have a few secrets:
1) My mama just raised me right.
2) I know the purpose of life, which is to experience love and eat good barbeque. For vegetarians I'm thinking it is to experience love and eat homegrown tomatoes, preferably with basil and fresh mozzerella.
3) Own a dog, it makes you feel unconditionally loved.
4) Own a cat- it makes you feel humble.
5) Do what you love for a living, and if you can't, do what you love in your free time and eventually you will find an opportunity to get paid for it.
6) Watch "What the Bleep Do We Know". It changed any negative stuff about love I was holding onto.
7) Surround yourself with good, positive, fun, emotionally healthy people.
8) Be a great friend and you will attract the same.
9) Realize E.B. White was correct when he said "One of the most time-consuming things is to have an enemy."
10) Forgive everyone- even if you don't initially think they deserve it.
Especially yourself.

I liked the first breakup a lot better.

Now not only are we not together, I'm demonized. Next time I'll quit when I'm behind.
